Directed by Brady Corbet, ‘The Brutalist‘ is a historical drama film telling the story of a visionary architect, László Toth, who arrives in America after escaping post-war Europe in 1947 to rebuild his life, his work, and his marriage to his wife Erzsébet after being forced apart during wartime by shifting borders and regimes. On his own in a strange new country, László settles in Pennsylvania, where the wealthy and prominent industrialist Harrison Lee Van Buren recognizes his talent for building. But power and legacy come at a heavy cost.
‘The Brutalist’ stars Academy Award winner Adrien Brody, who plays the Hungarian-Jewish architect named László Tóth, Felicity Jones as Erzsébet Tóth (László’s wife), and Guy Pearce in the role of Harrison Lee Van Buren. The film also stars Joe Alwyn (as Harry Lee Van Buren), Stacy Martin (as Maggie Lee Van Buren), Raffey Cassidy (as Zsófia), Emma Laird (Audrey, Attila’s wife), with Isaach De Bankolé (Gordon, László’s friend), and Alessandro Nivola (as Attila). The screenplay is written by Brady Corbet and Mona Fastvold.
