I’m really hoping this movie turns out to be good. I like Tom Hanks. I like Emma Thompson. I’ve read a ton of Disney biographies, and Mary Poppins is one of my favorite Disney films. This movie seems tailored made for my interests, so it could be a great treat or a bitter disappointment. The Walt Disney Company is smart to position this as their four quadrant winter release, I can’t think of anything that’ll have more crowd pleasing potential this holiday season. Whether its good or not, you can expect it to make a ton of money.
