Movie Review : The Innkeepers

The Innkeepers is about the last days of the Yankee Pedlar Inn before closing its doors for good. The two remaining employees, Claire (Sara Paxton) and Luke (Pat Healy) who are so-called “ghost hunters” become attracted to the hotel’s ghost story of a young bride named Madeline O’Malley who hung herself in the 1800’s when her husband abandoned her on their honeymoon and the staff hid her body in the cellar. Claire wants to show proof that the hotel is really haunted, so with the help of one of the guests, Leanne Rease-Jones (Kelly McGillis), who is a psychic, makes contact with the it.  That is when Claire starts seeing the ghost of Madeline O’Malley and the movie gets a little scarier.

I got mixed views on this one. It’s an original horror movie that plays with your mind and I loved the story line. Some of the scenes lacked something, and it got boring between the two characters of Claire and Luke during what I would like to call “dry scenes”.  Over all, it’s a good horror movie, but not a one that I really enjoyed watching.  You can see this movie on DVD.
